Paint Selection
The type of paint best suited for your project depends on how you plan to use the room and the desired finish.

Latex paints are long lasting and durable. They offer great gloss retention, are easy to work with and clean up easily with soap and water.

Oil based paints offer good adhesion, stain resistance and superior durability. most often used for the trim in high use rooms. Tools are cleaned with mineral spirits

For both types of paint gloss finishes are the easiest to keep clean.

Tip:
Don't use turpentine or other solvents to remove paint from your skin. The solvent and the paint can get into your bloodstream.

Apply aliberal amount of baby oil or lemon oil and let sit for 10 to 15 minutes, then wash with soap and warm water.

Buy a canvas drop cloth instead of plastic or paper. These can be re-used again and again for many years on different projects.

Buy a premium paint brush/roller. Investing in high quality brushes and rollers will save time and money. They are more efficient when applying paint and can be rinsed and re-used.
